Close Game Ends In Loss For 49ers

The football season home opener took place yesterday for the San Francisco 49ers against the red hot New Orleans Saints. It seems that the Saints are the team every one loves to hate since their pulling off the Super Bowl win last winter and the 49ers are no exception to this strong emotion against the New Orleans team. 49er Coach, Mike Singletary, went so far as to suggest before last nights game that his team would take down Saints quarterback, Drew Brees. Sorry, Mike, that just didn’t happen. What did happen was that even though the San Francisco team played a pretty good game, the Saints were once again the victors in the physical gridiron battle that ended in a score of 25-22.
49er quarterback, Alex Smith put in a good performance going 23 of 32 for 275 yards. Unfortunately he threw two interceptions which hurt his team. Even so, they were in it until the end when the win was clinched by Garrett
Hartley with a 37 yard field goal. The Saints don’t show any signs of slowing down either mentally or physically. Brees credit’s the mindset of being the hunter rather than the hunted for the success that his team is enjoying.
