The U.S. Basketball team concluded its’ final exhibition game on home turf against Brazil and after an unsteady beginning came back to finish strong. The superstars wearing the basketball uniforms of the United States ended the first half of the game struggling to make a stop against an energetic Brazilian squad. At one point in the game the U.S. team was down 10 points to their Brazilian counterparts but ended up regrouping during halftime and taking charge. LeBron James scored 30 points (including 14 in the final period) contributing to the final score of 80-69 for the American’s. Kevin Durant came away with 11 points and Chris Paul contributed 10 for his squad.
Next up will be a game against Great Britain which will take place in Manchester, England and then on to Barcelona for games against both Argentina and Spain. While expectations are high for the U.S. team in the upcoming Olympics, their early showing against Brazil indicates that perhaps they have a bit of work to do.
