Jazz Outshine The Suns

Monday nights game between the Utah Jazz and the Phoenix Suns was a study in “runs” beginning with the Jazz taking an early lead at 19-5 and undoubtedly feeling pretty good. The Suns roared back to life, shutting down Utahs momentum and leaving the Jazz 17 points down and a big hole to crawl out of. That, however, is precisely what they did, finishing up with a 43-15 run that sealed the win.
One of the Suns lesser known players, Goran Dragic,  scorched the Jazz making six of his seven 3-point attempts. He wasn’t the only one with the magic touch when it came to the three pointers – Steve Nash and Channing Frey each contributed to the 17 (out of 30) that the Suns ended up with.
Andrei Kirilenko came up big again, scoring 25 much needed points and newcomer, Wesley Matthews gave the team a spark that was instrumental in the win.  He came off the bench to contribute 21 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. This win propelled the Jazz into the number 5 spot in the Western Conference standings.
The team will travel to play Portland tomorrow night and then will be back to play before the home crowd for games against the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks and then the Trailblazers again for the second time in a week.
