Starting Off Right

The Utah Jazz squad attired in their white and purple basketball uniforms went out and convincingly put away the Golden State Warriors with a score of 101-78. That’s good news for Jazz fans who are nervous about how this new, young team is going to fare this season. If the first outing is any indication, they are determined to play hard and get wins. Coach Corbin will likely be experimenting with different starting line-ups but on this first night he went with Richard Jefferson and Gordon Hayward leaving Alec Burks as a reserve. That was an unexpected move but it worked well for Tuesday’s game. Another surprise was that Burk’s back-up, new-comer John Lucas 111 chalked up 16 points in the win. Returning player, Jeremy Evans contributed 12 points which is what Burks ended up with as well. It’s way too early to make very accurate predictions for the season this year, but it’s definitely a good sign that the team played so well in their first game.
