Utes Open With A Red Hot Win

Last night was the season opener for the Utah Utes Football team as they squared off against 15th ranked Pittsburg. Playing to a sold old stadium of over 45,700, the team looked good in the first half of the game. The Utes left the field at half time with a score of 14-7 in their favor. There was a noticeable let-up in efficiency in the third quarter and it continued into the fourth as well which resulted in a tie game as regulation time ran out. The game winner was a field goal kicked by Joe Phillips. The fans were ecstatic with a win to start off the season and are hoping for many more in the upcoming months. Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn conceded that the defense got the job done for the team on this particular outing, recognizing that he and the rest of the offense would need to execute better in the future. Meanwhile, a win is a win and spirits are high as are expectations for next weeks meeting with UNLV.
