What Are An Athletes’ Greatest Attributes?

The stories of premier athletes and their amazing accomplishments are rampant. We hear of feats that are hard to even conceive of, being sometimes accomplished by individuals that might seem quite unlikely to us. What exactly is it that propels someone to excel beyond even what they believe their limits are?
Preparing oneself for performance is crucial. Obviously, if you want your body to perform to its’ utmost capabilities, you need to take care of it. You need to develop strong bones and toned muscles by working out and you need to fuel your body with the appropriate foods for maximum health benefits.
A top level athlete must be willing to put in the time necessary to train for his chosen sport. Consistent, rigorous efforts are required to get to- and stay at- the top of ones game. Developing a strong work ethic is critical to achieving success at almost anything.
Focus and Commitment are two components of a great athlete that cannot be overlooked. We have all seen athletes who weren’t the biggest or the strongest or the fastest and yet they have risen to the top of their fields and become champions. Many times, what they lacked in size and strength they made up for in determination and heart. Their achievements provide great hope to others who truly desire to excel but feel that the odds are stacked against them. If you have the will to win, chances are pretty good that you can also find the way.
