Close Game Ends In Loss For 49ers

Posted by

The football season opening game happened yesterday with the San Francisco 49ers playing against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints pulled of a win in last winter’s Super Bowl and since then everyone seems to hate them especially the 49ers. Mike Singletary, the 49er’s coach, even suggested that prior to the game last night his team will take down Drew Brees, the Saints’ quarterback. What happened was even if San Francisco played their best, the Saints still won with a score of 25-22.

Alex Smith, the 49er quarterback, played well running 23 of 32 for 275 yards. Sadly, he threw twice but got intercepted and that hurt the team. But the win was snatched from them by Garrett Hartley with a field goal of 37 yards. The Saints did not slow down their pace physically or mentally. Brees gives credit to his team’s mindset of being the hunter instead of the hunted that is why they won.
