Unanswered Questions As BYU Football Season Begins

Posted by

The opening games of the season starts today with the BYU football team against Washington which will be held at LaVellEdwards stadium. Though there were some final decisions settled in the previous days like BYU will go independent and leave the Mountain West Conference, there are still some issues being resolved.

For example, there is still a search of who they will get as a back-up quarterback for Y. There is still a debate if Jake Heaps and Riley Nelson will get equal play time. It is expected that Nelson will start to play today but nobody knows how the game will turn out. There are a lot of questions on how effective the new game play are in today’s game.

The Cougar’s still have a lot of issues to fix so their game today will be interesting. Another thing to look out for today’s game is that the new head coach of Washington Huskies is Steve Sarkisian, the former BYU quarterback who in the mid 1990s played for the school. Huskies has a better roster today than they did ten years ago now that they have Jake Locker as their quarterback. He is a candidate for the Heisman trophy. This means the Cougars have a huge chance of winning this afternoon and starting the season right.
