What’s Next For The WAC?

The Western Athletic Conference had better days. This season they took a big blow when Nevada and Boise State left the league after they gave their verbal commitment they will stay. The WAC will penalize them for breaking their promise by making them pay a 5 million dollar fine.

Additionally, the teams should stay with the WAC until the end of the 2011-2012 season even if they wish to leave a year earlier. In the meantime, the WAC conference has to find new teams to replace the gaps left by these two teams. Aside from Nevada and Boise state, there are 6 more teams that complete the conference. These teams will be significantly affected with the changes if the conference is not able to attract new quality teams.
